Meet Mr. Fitzroy McFarlane
Mr. Fitzroy (Fitz) McFarlane, a dedicated physiotherapist, has served in various roles and hospitals since graduating from the Manchester Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy in 1989. Working in both NHS and private settings Fitz gained extensive experience in treating musculo-skeletal problems including sports injuries, back or neck problems and soft tissue strains and sprains and neurological problems caused by, for example, stroke or Parkinsons Disease, before setting up the McFarlane Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Consultancy in 1997. Patients have included people of all ages, from young children to pensioners, and all ability and activity levels from couch potatoes to professional performers to elite level athletes.

"I was glad to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the Manchester Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy, where I studied from 1986 to 1989. This program provided me with a foundation in physiotherapy practices and patient care, prepared me for the rewarding career in this vital field that I have thoroughly enjoyed and continue to do so today."

WORK HISTORY
I began my career at KGH from 1989 to 1990, where I developed foundational skills in the industry. I then moved to LRI from 1990 to 1993, further honing my expertise. From 1993 to 1995, I worked at NGH, before joining BUPA Leicester (now Spire Hospital) from 1995 to 1997. In 1997, I took a significant step by opening the McFarlane Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Consultancy, where I continue to provide specialized services.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Postgraduate training in rehabilitation provides vital benefits that improve treatment outcomes. EXTRA TRAINING
With a deep passion for understanding sporting injuries, I taken various courses related to sports and the injuries that athletes face, including sports nutrition and sports psychology. This knowledge has significantly enhanced my ability to support athletes of all levels in their recovery and performance.
I am dedicated to providing tailored treatments and rehabilitation programs that address the unique needs of each individual, ensuring they can return to their sport stronger and .

I have, over the years, gained a diverse range of experience through my studies in various fields. My education includes, though not limited to, Pain Management, Myofascial Taping, and Bobath Normal Movement, as well manual techniques like Myofascial Techniques/Massage and Maitland Mobilisation Techniques. Additionally, I have knowledge in McKenzie Spinal Techniques, Orthopaedic Medicine (Cyriax), and the Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes (Sahrmann), contributing to a well-rounded expertise in physical therapy.
